Mid Century oil on board by Ruth Martin (1928-2004). Ruth studied painting in New York City, and in the 1940s attended a summer session at Black Mountain College in North Carolina, where she encountered influential artists including Josef Albers and Lyonel Feiningerattended. Martin also worked in ceramics and sculpture. She was one of the first women to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in architecture.
